The American Working Dog
Association would like to thank you for your interest in joining.
Fill out the membership form for desired certification or
certifier level. Again, thanks for your interest.
CERTIFIER CREDENTIALS
The applicant must be a certified or sworn law enforcement
officer. (or)
The applicant must have been a sworn law enforcement officer in
the past. (or)
The applicant must have had a minimum of 5 years law enforcement
experience. (or)
The applicant must have had a minimum of 5 years K-9 experience
or K-9 training experience.
The applicant must be recognize by the Board of Directors of the
American Working Dog Association, base on his or her
credentials, experience, knowledge, accomplishments, and on his
or her ability to train a police k-9 or working K-9.
The applicant must currently be appointed and or approved by
National Administrator or the Board of Directors of the American
Working Dog Association (this is not to include
apprenticeships).
The applicant will be reviewed by the executive board or
National Administrator and researched if deemed necessary. The
executive board will make the decision based on credentials
within 30 days. The decision of executive board shall be on
unanimous decision and all decisions are finial. A current
Criminal history must be provided by each applicant. Any future
amendments to this standard must be met by all current trainers
of the AWDA.
