On April 8-13 2013, A.T.S.K9 Ltd will be hosting their 3nd Detection dog seminar in the Niagara Peninsula. Come and learn new theories on motivation, methodology, problem solving, from Instructors that have learned, worked and proven their ability to teach on the subjects of detection dogs. Hands on work with your dog. Our instructors have many years of experience in the K9 field and will share that knowledge with you. Learn a little or learn a lot- work with your dog or without.

Meet the Instructors and speakers

Sid Murray: Owner of A.T.S. K9 over 30 yrs. as owner, trainer, and handler of Detection dogs. Worked in US and South America on seminars and searches and in Europe with MDD and EDD dogs. www.atsk9detection.com Jeff Hopkins: Retired thirty two year veteran of the Police Service. He was a member of the K9 unit since 1989. His responsibilities included the training and maintenance of the K9 Unit, and the bi-annual certification of many Canadian and American teams. He is renowned in training dogs for hard and soft surface tracking.

Bernie Gauthier: Recently retired after 35 year career in law enforcement. Started with 10 years as a Police officer, performing regular Police duties in the Simcoe area. Then joined the Canadian Federal Government as Customs Officer with Border Services for the next 25 years. The last 21 years of service with Customs, were as a Detector Dog Handler and Trainer, specializing in Drug and firearm detection.

John Grima, Retired Toronto K9 Handler. Just returned to Canada completion of training over 300 US Soldiers and dogs for IED’s . Trainer for the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Response Team (OVERT). Over the last 15 years our Cadaver Dogs have responded to 95 Human Remains Searches, 40 of which have been Major Crimes. 40 of the searches have been Major Crimes, such as Arson, Kidnappings and Homicides also Suicides and International Disasters. During those 40 searches the Cadaver dogs past and present have recovered human remains in 14 of those searches on both land and water.

The American Working Dog Association will be hosting a Tactical K9 and High Risk Deployment work shop at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base.  This promises to be a first class experience and we encourage early enrollment.

Brett will be teaching a day and a half course on Tactical Dog and high risk deployments. Brett is an expert in tactical deployments, and K9 tatical deployments.  He is known nationally and internationally for his K9 training and handling skills. His problem solving and training skills are cutting edge!  He is also an AWDA certifier in narcotics, patrol and explosives.  Rich has been training police K9s in his own kennel for several years. 

Sid Murry - A.T.S K9, Canada

Canadian Sid Murray, has worked as a consultant for many companies in the United States, South America, Europe and Canada. He is well known by many law enforcement agencies for demonstrating the proper use and deployment of Drug, Explosive, Police Dogs and Landmine Detection Dogs. His detector dog training and problem solving is the culmination of 30 years of experience. He is also a certifier with the AWDA in narcotics, explosives, bed bug, termite, mold and patrol.

Mike Bullock - Bullocks K9 Training, Greenville, NC

Mike Bullock has trained hundreds of police canines, all over the country as well as abroad. His level of selection and training standards has made him elite in all areas of procurement and training of working dogs.  He is one of the very few able to certify and train arson K-9s, as well as, patrol, narcotics, explosives, mold and cadavar detection dogs. His work with military special forces in tacticle deployments has given him first class insite on tactical movements and deployments.

This seminar will cover four days of senario based training and AWDA certifications. Scenarios will include, high risk tracking, high risk deployments and multi team deployment concepts. Problem solving in all diciplines will be addressed. Certification will be offered to any detector dog teams. Through the American Working Dog Association.

Turn off at Packard Road (Exit 23).

Continue another mile, turn right at the main gate.
